An open letter to leaders who are asking themselves:
Do I need a leadership coach?
If everyone knew how handsome or beautiful they are, they would never look into a mirror.
But they do. All, well most of us do. Look at ourselves. To check if we are as handsome and beautiful as when we last looked. We look into our mobile phone on selfie mode if we can’t find a mirror.
We examine ourselves. Study our reflection. Even engage with our image. Perhaps in the hope of getting better in something, about something in ourselves.
Just for a moment at least. To feel good and start the day with cheer and optimism.
We at times make faces and LOL at the results. Or, try to cover the second or third chin that’s threatening to become a permanent fixture.
We rehearse our speech, feel pleased about our diction, and smile, imagining the applause at the end of it.
To seek a coach is to be standing before a mirror and seeing all of yourself and a lot more besides -
Some you hadn’t ever seen before
Some you had had just a hint of, and
Some you hadn’t even imagined might be in you
Not to say, of course, that these collections of ‘Some’ are necessarily negative or undesirable. On the contrary. They could just be the stuff you currently need the most.
To get you wherever you want to be. Faster maybe than you think is possible.
Again: DO I NEED A COACH?
Approach a mirror. There must be one at hand.
